This weekend was a blast. Laura and I had our weekly Movie Night™. This time we managed to watch two movies, both of which were incredible:

The Illusionist
&
Friday Night Lights

Can you say "MAGIC + GARRETT HEDLUND (with two 't's) - BEN + CANDY + [ripped] JESSICA BIEL + RUFUS SEWELL {as a bad guy, figures} = GLORIOUS?"

Well you should be able to. Because it does.
Especially the Garrett part. He is so incredibly hott. And he is SUCH a great actor.
I cried so incredibly hard at the end of that movie. Not quite as much as Troy, but still, I was a mess.

Garrett is definitely on my actors-that-I-will-see-every-movie-they-make list. Along with Viggo Mortensen and Johnny Depp.
Even though his next movies are going to make me sad. Because one of them has Lindsay Lohan in it, and the other features a bald Garrett. So depressing.
But oh well. If he takes his clothes off, I'll be happy.

Something looks different, right?
Right?

WELL! That is because I have a new LAYOUT!
I'm not as big a fan of it as I was the Shikamaru one, but I think it's neat.
Featuring the kids from My Chemical Romance. I really heart Frankie&Gerard. Gerard is one of the most talented human beings on the planet. I think so anyway.

And that picture of the boys? Love it. I really do.
I kinda sorta maybe wish I was trapped in that small room with them.

*drools*

Anyway. No school today, which is a relief. I've been feeling really... angsty (I guess) about school & life & college & stuff lately. Laura and I are on the same wavelength. Or something. A break is nice. And it means this is a three-day week.
My favorite kind of week. The only thing better is not having school at all. Or Turkey Day. That week is glorious.

I've made some icons. Mostly My Chem, obviously. One random one of Brad Pitt (from Troy) because Laura was nice enough to take a screencap of one of the greatest scenes in the movie for me.

I am going to post a super short entry before I get back to my Latin project because I would just like to state two things:

First.

I'm completely, endlessly, moronically, chaotically, hopelessly obsessed with M Y C H E M I C A L R O M A N C E.

~ I adore all five of those boys [Frankie, Gerard, Mikey, Ray & Bob].

~ I can put their 2nd & 3rd CDs on neverending repeat (I'm not quite as keen on the first one, but I just heard it for the first time a few days ago, so that's okay).

~ Gerard has a cute laugh.

~ Gerard and Frankie are so awesome together. They're like the coolest best friends ever. And I don't even know if they are best friends.

~ Frankie is dastardly sexy. All his piercings and tatoos are awesome.

~ When music that isn't meant to be sad can move you to tears, you know you've got something epic on your hands.

~ Expect a layout soon. If anyone wants to take this one once I change it, leave a comment!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So far, 2007 has been incredibly incredible.

Observe:
~ I went to Eragon with Laura (for the second time).
~ Eragon was better the second time.
~ Spent the night at Laura's and watched Law & Order: SVU all night long (and one episode of Monk).
~ Spent my Best Buy giftcards. Bought tonsandtons of fun stuff.
~ Made three icons and four backgrounds.

Let's see... ICONS? Okay good, I was thinking the same thing.

Wallpapers, now. I'll post the links to the four I made, but Photobucket resized them, so unless you're screen resolution is 800 x 500 (which I doubt it is), they won't look very good.

They were all made from screencaps I took of various Naruto episodes, so no stealing without asking me if I mind.

Not a lot left to talk about... I started watching a couple different series recently, I might as well give my thoughts on them. Just to warn everyone, most of them aren't shows that started recently because I'm always too busy to watch something when I first download it. You have been warned (of what?)

Asatte no Houkou (あさっての方向。)
I've seen the first two episodes of this show, and basically, or as far as I can tell, it has no purpose. Karada, a little girl, and Shoko, a grown woman, have switched bodies. Karada is now a teenager and Shoko is a child. All that happens in the first and second episode is Karada takes a bath and cries a lot. I really don't want to continue watching, but if I get bored one day then maybe...

Black Blood Brothers (ブラック・ブラッド・ブラザーズ)
Wheeee! A show about vampires! I love the main characters of this one, especially the two vampires (the other is a regular human, but I have love for her too). Taking place in the future, vampires and humans live in harmony, for the most part anyways. In the series vampires come from differing bloodlines, and if you can prove which bloodline you belong to, you can go to a place called the "Special Zone," which I assume is a city or some kind of haven for vampires. It's got lots of action, and it seems poised to become pretty angsty, and I've got all 12 episodes, so I'll keep watching and keep you posted.

Sumomomo Momomo ~Chijou Saikyou no Yome~ (すもももももも～地上最強のヨメ～)
It has possibly the most insane name of any anime ever, besides maybe Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, which has similar title now that I see them next to each other. There aren't any other similarities though, unless you find Bo endlessly hilarious. I laughed out loud at least 10 times during the first episode, which is as much as I've seen so far. I can tell there'll be amazing amounts of fanservice and moments that make me wonder if this show is illegal, but I'll definitely keep watching. All you need to know is that Momoko, who looks like she's in middle school and never wears any shoes, is crazy-good at martial arts. Oh and she wants to have a baby with Koushi, a high school guy from another clan. Oh wow. I don't think I can do it justice with just a description. It is seriously (Siriusly) hilarious.

Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi (天保異聞妖奇士)
Another one I've only seen the first episode of. This show is animated by Bones (who did Hagaren) so you know it's got to be beautiful. It's also being shown at 6PM every Saturday, thought to be the best TV timeslot, so you know it's got to have some kind of potential. It really doesn't disappoint on either of those counts; the animation is flawless and the art is amazing. The character designs are amazing, although I don't like the main character's that much. By the time the episode was over however, it had grown on me a bit. It's directed by Nishikiori Hiroshi, who directed Azumanga Daioh, so I'm not sure what to expect. I've been rambling about the staff list, but the plot is really what seems amazing. It takes place in feudal Japan. Essentially, there are monsters and Ryuudou Yukiatsu has the power to kill them. That's really all I'm going to say because I need to see te second episode to really understand parts of the first. Apparently these monsters called "Youi" are attacking parts of Japan. There was mention of samurai so I'm pretty excited to see where this one goes.

I was going to review Yakitate Japan, Mai-Otome Zwei, and Excel Saga, but I'm too lazy to type any more. I'll do those three in one of my next posts.

OMG. Okay. So I have yet (give it time) to talk about how OBSESSED with Eragon & Eldest I am, but let's just say... um... I'MREALLYOBSESSEDWITHERAGON&ELDEST, 'kay?

Anyways. Laura (Sirius says, "Go visit her, she's completely insane. You'll laugh and maybe wet yourself a little.") found this AMAZING article-thing (here), and it has caps (they're blurry but STILL, they're THERE) of the greatest scene in the entire damn movie (which, unlike a lot of people, I did enjoy): ED SPELEERS'S SHIRTLESS SCENE.

Just for the record, I adore him.

New layouttttt. I was freaking out about whether or not I would remember how to code these things, but it turns out it all came back to me. Not that I really do anything impressive. Actually I don't do much besides decide what color things should be. Still, though, I was nervous.

I think it turned out kind of nice. I love Shikamaru and I love the color green, so that helps a bunch. Of course I'd also like to think some of it had to have come from my AMAZING graphic making skills.</sarcasm>

Happy Holidays to everyone (who is everyone?). I hope everyone got a lot of neat things for Christmas (if you celebrate it, of course). If you don't celebrate it then I hope everyone's break from school has been awesome so far. When it all comes to down to it, as far as I'm concerned, that's the most important thing about this time of year anyways.

Listening to My Chemical Romance's new CD, The Black Parade.

It's pretty much AMAZING.

My favorite songs are "Welcome to the Black Parade" (of course) and "House of Wolves."

I think I just listened to "House of Wolves" really closely today, actually, so it may turn out to be my favorite song on the entire album.

I am addicted to making icons. They aren't even good. I'm just addicted. Sometimes I do tutorials and they turn out really good. Actually lately they all have the same style as this one tutorial that I did because I love the way they look. Then again, the more icons I make, the more I'm bound to improve. Or something. Whatever I just want to feel like I'm talented.

There are a bunch, but I'll put some (lots) up.

Not that any of them are so good that people will want to use them.

Well that took forever, but there you are. A huge conglomeration of some of the icons I've made in the last year. More like the last three months, but whatever. My favorites are mostly mixed in amongst the not-so-good. I uploaded them at random times to Photobucket, since I really only make them for fun, and to (sometimes) use on Last.fm.

Here are the last five I made.
They're all very similar, but I really like them, so I'm pretty sure most of my icons will be in a similar style in the future.

I'm back. On Xanga. What a miracle (except not). After over a year, I think. That's a crazy long time (I'm told it's something like 365 days, but don't quote me on that). Since I last posted a TON of stuff has happened. Everyone knows what that means, right?

TIME TO MAKE A LIST.

1. I read Eragon & Eldest and got/am completely obsessed.
2. We got the title for the last Harry Potter. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It gives me the shivers, but I'm not sure if that's because the name is scary or because all things Harry Potter remind me of Sirius, who, coincidentally gives me the shivers.
3. I made an account on Facebook. Which is nice I guess. It's okay. Sometimes I can't bring myself to sign out, even though I'm acutely aware of how dumb an addiction it is the next morning at school.
4. I made an account on Last.fm. Best website ever. It's so great because it's all about music. I am obsessed with music. My life basically revolves around it. Well. Maybe half my life revolves around music, and the other half revolves around Japan. Whatever. It's amazing.

GAHSDGHALGH. There are more. But my grandparents are coming over for Christmas dinner. And I have to shower. I'm covered in all kinds of foods from cooking that damn pumpkin pie. So I'll update later. And, just so I don't forget and accidentally fall back into that old habit of posting everything I get. I mean no one really cares what I get for Christmas, do they? NO. They don't. They care about what they get for Christmas/whatever holiday they celebrate, if any. That's the way it should be. Or something.

Oh, and. New layout coming soonish. It's going to be of Nara Shikamaru from Naruto, another one of my obsessions. NOW I NEED TO SHOWER (damn where's Laura when I need her?).

And I will snap my fingers and be like, "'Sup, Mike, right?" and then I'll fall madly in love with someone who works at Borders. Then I'll get a job there. And we'll have little bookwormy children. And it'll be really great.

Actually... that doesn't sound half-bad. ^_^ Afterall, I'm sick of the guys at my school. Dumbies.

Being sick is no fun. >_<

Okay... so it's a little fun. But only a little.

I've never slept so much in my life. I went home early from school yesterday and slept from 2:30 to 7:30. Got up, did some homework. Slept from 9:00 to 2:00. Took another sleeping type medication and slept from 2:15 to 10:00.

So basically I slept for 18 hours. How nice. I just hope I can get to sleep tonight, because I'm feeling pretty good and I'm going to try to go to school tomorrow. Hurrah.

Okay so I bought the Aly & AJ CD, Into the Rush, and I like it a lot. Their songs aren't very long, which gets on my nerves, but I really like their style. They can both sing really well. These are the kind of songs that get stuck in your head really easily. But it's okay because they're good. I hate when I get a song I don't like stuck in my head. Candy Shop for example. I don't like ~~rap~~, so that was no fun. I do like 50 Cent though. He is mighty fine.

So. New layout. I'm assuming you all noticed. I mean it's kind to miss, isn't it? And I'm assuming that you all know it features Edward Elric of Fullmetal Alchemist. That's such a good anime. And manga. I love them both, actually. I can't wait unil the fourth tankoubon comes out in November. It comes with figures or something crazy. I want an Ed figure! >_<

Ahh. I'm coming up with zero inspiration for my new layout. The only thing I know is that I want it to be Fullmetal Alchemist. I think I'll just find a picture like the one of Mitsuki I have down yonder and change around the colors. At least until further inspiration decides to seek me out.

Well I got my Fullmetal Alchemist box and DVD 1 yesterday! And I watched it last night (well early this morning, really). So good. Even the first four episodes, which I've seen four or five times each are still wonderful. The episodes on the first DVD are as follows:

1. To Challenge the Sun
2. Body of the Taboo
3. Mother..... << my favorite on the DVD.
4. Transmutation of Love

They're all so good. I can tell that I'm going to be super depressed when I watch the end of this series. It is wonderful. I'm buying the manga too, and I'll be sad when I finish reading that as well. That's how I was with Full Moon wo Sagashite, and it had roughly the same amount of episodes (52 vs. the 51 FMA has). Sadness. At least with FMA I have the movie and the video games to look forward too!

The music of Fullmetal is simply dazzling. "Brothers" still remains my favorite background music of all time. I need to get all the music from this series. That will be my next download. And then I'll put Brothers on my iPod and have a party listening to all my favorite BG music. Which includes all of the following, plus more that I can't remember/find out because my iPod is in Franci's purse. Silly kid.
